Council Development Application (DA)

Office nestled amongst trees

The majority of Councils require a landscape plan be submitted as part of all Development and Building applications. Outdoor structures, swimming pools and some retaining walls also require a Development Application with plans and documentation submitted to council.

Our experience Ensures a fast DA Approval Process.

PDLA Landscape Architects are aware of the constant changes to rules and regulations for all Sydney and Country Councils. As we regularly submit plans to council we can make sure your application is prepared in the correct manner to ensure a fast approval process. All Councils have differing requirements, but for the most, the landscape plan should address the following:
  • Location of building footprint
  • A Statement of Environmental Effects
  • Existing trees / and vegetation to be retained or removed
  • Private open space
  • Site plan and site analysis
  • Hard area and Soft area Ratios
  • Proposed additional planting
  • Indication of drainage, earthworks or excavation
  • Elevation and Section Plans for new Swimming Pool
  • Erosion and sediment control plan
  • Access and amenity

What PDLA can do for you with landscape plans for DA

Our designs are produced on electronic formats, enabling compatibility with software used by Architects, Surveyors and Town Planners. This means PDLA are able to liaise with the client's architect/designers or home builders and request plans that can be modified for use as Landscape Plans.

Once the landscape design is finalised, PDLA can act on the client's behalf and submit all necessary plans and paperwork to Council. PDLA has submitted Landscape Plans and Development Applications (DA) for many local Council's and have a good understanding of their procedures to save you time.
